Chile. 1969

Since I discovered photography, my fascination with trios began: my wife, myself, and my camera. From that moment on, I stopped merely looking and started to learn how to see.
— Michel Catalan

Michel Catalán, born in Yumbel, Chile, 1969, is more than a photographer; he is a visual storyteller who transforms experiences into evocative images. After overcoming a hospitalization in 2021, Catalán embarked on a photographic journey through Spain with the Roberto Mata School Photography and Long Distance Photo Expeditions, discovering a therapeutic escape through each image.

From then on, his camera and photographic training redirected his life. His professional career in the music industry in Chile and Miami intertwined with his evolution as a photographer. At the age of 52, he formally began his journey in photography, exploring a variety of subjects from a documentary point of view, taking special relevance to the life of musicians behind the scenes.

He is currently working on further developing Life of Others, In your Face and Total Access, as well as other unpublished projects. His expertise is available to non-governmental organizations that may require his insight.
